The Group of Companies including COFITECH begins its history in the end of the 70's with the production of textiles of asbestos for industrial use, with that single, solitary loom.
The industry further expanded and became more specialized In 1984, within the Group the first fiber alternatives to asbestos were introduced. A new era began, where the application and the technical support finally had an important role, due to insufficient knowledge of new fibers and their applications, while for the first time it was required to adapt the material to industrial requirements and not viceversa.
Late 80's COFITECH acquired enough experience in the workings of the asbestos-free textiles, and viewed European and international markets with a futuristic flair.
At the beginning of the 90's asbestos by now had been completely abandoned and the Group specialized not only in substitution of asbestos like ceramic fiber glass and silica fibers for conventional industrial applications, but also in high-tech fibers like Preoxidised PAN, Meta-Aramid, Para-Aramid and Carbon fibers, for the newly emerging industrial technologies.
Since 1992, products manufactured with COFITECH's brands are distributed and known all over Europe.
In 1996 has been reached the task of expanding the productive experience, in order to distribute products of high technical profile on the European and USA markets.
In 1999, to benefit from internalization, COFITECH's brands have been established, enveloping the 30-years experience of the COFITECH technical people, with the objective of integrating in the European market.
