High Tech Fibers
Glass fibres present many physical and chemical properties identical to those of glass in its solid state, being equal in composition: density, electrical resistivity, incombustibility, thermal conductivity and chemical inertia. Mechanical properties are quite different.
Glass, known as fragile material when in solid state, proves, when drawn into very fine filaments, to be remarkably resistant and flexible. General properties of E glass filament are illustrated in this section.
