PARA-ARAMID & HYBRID FABRICS
Para-aramids are a class of heat-resistant and strong synthetic fibers. They are used in aerospace and military applications, for ballistic rated body armor fabric and ballistic composites, in bicycle tires, and as an asbestos substitute.
Aramids share a high degree of orientation with other fibers, a characteristic that dominates their properties, increasing characteristics like resistance to abrasion, to organic solvents, nonconductivity, no melting point, degradation starts from 500°C, low flammability, fabric integrity at elevated temperatures.
At the same time it is highly sensitive to ultraviolet radiation and therefore it must be kept safely protected from light by appropriate storage.
